Surlyfest is the best as an autumn/fest brew

My personal favorite (and the only one I will trade for this year) is Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin. Shit is legit, maybe 2 legit 2 quit.

Schlafly is my favorite, hands down. Dogfish Head Punkin is a great alternative, since Schlafly doesn't make it up to Chicago.

Gonna' miss my personal favorite this fall. Michigan Brewing Company recently closed its doors meaning no Screaming Pumpkin this year. Punkin is a good one too.

Looking to fill that void with O'fests from Frankenmuth and Hacker.

I'm not, however, ready to bust into the fall stuff yet. It's still too frickin hot!

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale is definitely my favorite--delicious!
If you live in VA, Williamsburg Alewerks and Hardywood Park both have great pumpkin ales
Dogfish Head Punkin and Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin are quite good.
Smuttynose's Pumpkin is really good--not nearly as spiced as most, so you get a nice squashy/pumpkiny flavor.
ST Pumking is solid, but is also one of the most fake/artificial tasting to me. It tastes like someone took a bland ale and squirted a few shots of the pumpkin syrup flavoring that gets used in pumpkin lattes into it.

Williamsburg Ale werks Pumpkin, Schlafly Pumpkin and The Bruery Autumn Maple

But the two best are Shipyards Smashed Pumpkin and ST Pumking

I think ST Pumking is actually the least fake/artificial to me, but that's just my opinion and obviously everyone has one. But I feel most pumpkin ales have that spice overload, where I don't get too much spice from Pumking at all. I get a diacetyl overload from Pumking, giving it a buttered popcorn aroma/flavor, but I love it and personally think it works in the beers favor. I've still never had Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale and it's been on my radar for years.. hopefully this is the year!

I did a big tasting of pumpkin beers this year and Pumking was the hands down favorite. It was so well liked that we made the guy who was late pick up a couple more bottles on his way.

I like Pumking, and while I agree that many pumpkin ales are overly spiced, that doesn't seem too "fake" to me since I find most pumpkin pies to be overly spiced as well. The ST one really reminds me of this "fall" flavored mix of shisha that I got from a hookah bar. It was a tasty shisha to be sure, but every time I have Pumking, I can't get the thought of it tasting exactly like that shisha out of my head.

You really should seek out Schlafly's. It's amazing--not too spiced with lots of creamy vanilla and graham cracker flavors. It reminds me of a really well-made pumpkin pie (made from actual pumpkins, not one of those thick, orange custards with enough spice to numb your tongue that are sold in most stores).

DFH Punkin ale and Southern Tier Pumking are the only pumpkin flavored ales I've liked so far.

cast another vote for pumking, to be followed by weyerbacher imperial pumpkin and then dfh punkin. honorable mention to autumn maple. not a huge rumpkin fan though, i find that one to be cloyingly sweet.

Came here to say that, maybe the only pumpkin beer worth drinking.

Also, Im not big on the style but I agree with Ayinger Octoberfest, that beer is on point, and the coolest bottlecap ive seen.

I've heard Schlafly's has a belgian influence.. not sure how accurate that is.. but I've heard nothing but good stuff about it forever.

Pumking is by far my favorite. I really like Michigan Screaming Pumpkin, Post Road Pumpkin, and Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin as well.
