Pumking and New Holland Ichabod Ale are both pretty good.

Really? I didn't realize it wasn't distributed. You'll definitely see me there, we'll have to set up a swap or meet of some sort!

yeah, it sold out at the release last year from my understanding and with the batch size being smaller this year i can only assume the same will happen again. i think avery has a ton of beers that, if they recieved a little more distro or larger batch size, could be 'whale' status, rumpkin and UJ coming to mind right now.

I'm a huge fan of Southern Tier's Pumking. Also, when I tried Great'er Pumpkin last fall I was terribly impressed. I think pumpkin ales do well in barrels. This being said, when I had Elysian's The Great Pumpkin last Thanksgiving, I was truely in awe.

Literally the first pumpkin beer to touch my lips will be the best. Then the one after that one will be the best, etc etc etc. For what it's worth I really like O'Fallons Pumpkin Ale and was really disappointed by DFH's Punkin

I like many of the pumpkin beers that have been mentioned, but have to give some love to two local options: Catawba Valley's King Don Pumpkin Ale and (Foothills) Cottonwood Pumpkin Ale.

I appreciate the gratitude, but I think your comment added much more than mine, so you really deserve the credit.

I had Schlafly Pumpkin Ale back in 2010. That and Pumking are by far my favorite Pumpkin Ales. They are both quite different from one another though. Schlafly is much more robust and slightly more sweet. You can really taste the pumpkin and squash flavors, and the spice is actually quite heavy. Extremely complex, yet all the flavors are very balanced. Pumking on the other hand is very creamy and smooth. Its got such a unique flavor, no other Pumpkin Ale has come close to emulating it. Both are fantastic and highly recommended.

Man I really like pumpkin beers and always told myself I would love them to be year round but Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale just got on the shelves here..... I find my self always skippin it since this summer has been so hot so I guess the weather really does affect what I want to drink. I always told myself I did not care what the season I could so a bomber of ST Pumking but I guess that is just not true. My biggest worry is that when I do want it it will be long gone.

It's weird, I can drink the shit out of big stouts during the summer but I don't crave pumpkin beers until October. Definitely a seasonal deal for me

I am a fan of barrel aged pumpkin ales, the spice flavor, booze and vanilla flavors imparted from the oak really work well together. I loved Rumpkin, was also a fan of Heavy Sea Greater Pumpkin.

Autumn Maple may be my favorite however, have not had any of the variations but the base beer is fantastic.
