Favorite German Beers

    My favorites are Kölsch and the many iterations of weizenbier.

    I like alphabetical...

    I think that the problem with German beers in the US is that they're generally not styles that hold up well to extensive travel time and long waits on the shelf. I generally only buy German beers at one or two places where I know that the beers are ordered in small quantities, move quickly, and are stored properly. The problem is that that my favorite place to go which fits this description is about 400 miles away.

    Like yemenmocha, I don't think there really are too many great examples of American breweries replicating classic German styles. I wish there were more breweries making great hefeweizens, Helles lagers, weizenbocks, etc., but there just aren't.
