    Spend a week visiting the Bamberg area. There are so many little breweries that do really good work. My favorite is Brauerei Zehender in Monsambach to the west of Bamberg. Another is Brauerei Will in Schenendorf. Then there is Huppendorf...

    This is a refreshing topic to see on BA. I have a hard time picking a favorite, but it's nice to see German brewers getting some much deserved respect. As far as I'm concerned, Germany is the best brewing nation in the world with the possible exception of the US.

    Schneider. Ayinger. Wheinstephaner. Hacker Schorr. Paulaner. Hofbrau... I love them all.

    (They don't here in PA either, the whole Beck's comment was a tongue in cheek remark anyways.) Actually, my favorite German beer was Andechs and a small local brewery we visited in Herrsching called Muhlfelder. Unfortunately, we can't get either beer here in the states so Schneider & Sohn is the next best.
