Forget the APA vs IPA vs DIPA vs whatever distinction. To me, it's Zombie Dust.

'twas my conclusion after numerous hoppy beers tonight, plus a Pliny a week ago, plus lots of thoughts past month drinking great local beers. Local beers include Michigan breweries like bells and founders; goose is local so tried all theirs for years.

Spent much of summer out east drinking their beers, Dogfish Head always being my favorite. And from the the West Coast have had plenty of Stone as well as Lagunitas.

So my pick is Zombie Dust. Yours?

Zombie Dust is hard to beat. Others I can never pass up on are Surly Furious, Surly Abrasive, Steel Toe Size 7 IPA, Indeed Day Tripper, Heady Topper, and Summit Saga. I can't really say I have an absolute favorite, but if I had to choose, it would probably be Abrasive.

Zombie Dust is up there, but Surly Wet 2012, Apocalypse Cow, and Broo Doo are all close as well. All the DFH Minute Series are fantastic, too.

I have not had Pliny, Heady, etc.

While I cannot deny zombie dust's deliciousness, I really like dreadnaught, founders centennial, lagunitas new dogtown pale, and my beloved Chicago beers: daisy cutter and citra ninja. Ipa's were my gateway into craft and by farther favorite style. Oh! Can't forget about PtE. Prob my fav right now

A friend brought me back Zombie Dust from the brewery a few weeks ago, and yeah, it was pretty much a revelation. As far as stuff that I have ready access to is concerned? Probably, Firestone Walker Double Jack.

Kerns citra without a doubt. If you have had it you know exactly why I am picking this great beer.

Abrasive, Hopslam, Myrcenary are all up there. I would probably give the nod to Myrcenary. Love that IPA.

Surly Furious has gotta be up there. Pliny the YOUNGER is beautful, but very hard to come by. And I really love Troeg's Nugget Nectar. I'm not on the Zombie bandwagon, but then again I've never had it on tap...
