Have a friend requesting I brew a red and frankly the style isn't for me, so, I don't know where to begin.

Anyone have a tried and true red recipe? I am all grain 5 gallon

    Thanks in advance

IR is one of my favorites and i'm still experimenting with different recipes. If you want a bright red i think just maris otter and roasted barley would work.

    GRAVITY-1.055-1.014 ABV-5.40% SRM-16.71 IBU-21.30
    MARIS OTTER-10 LBS
    MELADOIN-1 LB
    CARABOHEMIAN-8 OZS
    ROASTED BARLEY-3 OZS 11.69 LBS
    YEAST-WYEAST 1084 IRISH
HOPS: 1 OZ WILLIAMETTE AT 60 MINS
1 OZ EAST KENT GOLDINGS IN WHIRLPOOL AT 165 FOR 20 MINS
    CAL-56 SUL-22 CALCHL-84
Ph around 5.4---had to add pickling lime to raise it.
