Within 25 miles. Ok, Bull City in Durham makes a great English Mild, lots of flavor, low abv well sub 4%. Haw River is up the road, but I'm not a sour or funk guy.

Here on the East coast of FL, there are a number of breweries within 25 miles. But I can't think of anything that any of them do that I would consider outstanding. Pretty sad.

 

Tricycle from SingleSpeed Brewery. A very interesting and well done cream ale.

 

Abraxas and sump from November to February. Perennial rocks!

 

I have a few weeks in my area, not really a big fan of any of them...gun to my head, I'd say Thomas Creek's Trifecta, it's a nice IPA

For me it's a tie for 2016. Perennial Sump and 4 Hands Madagascar were both so good this year.

 

I'd camp at Surly.

 

Mayflower Summer Rye is probably my favorite within that short a distance.

 

Since Troegs is just outside of your 25 mile range (about 30 miles), I'll go with something from Spring House. Probably Big Gruesome PB Chocolate Stout, but they have a few others I really like as well (The Astounding She-Monster, Planet Bean, Atomic Raygun, Goofy Foot). They're about 10 mins down the road from where I live, so it doesn't get much more local.


I have other good local brewers, but none that I enjoy quite as much as Spring House.
