This has probably been asked before but what is your favorite local microbrewery? Where is it and why do you like it?

Mine would have to be Abandon Brewery in Penn Yan, NY. It is without a doubt the best brewery I've been to in the Finger Lakes region. The quality of their beer is top notch. I have never had anything bad from them. Their belgian beers in particular are better than 90% of anything I have found in bottles from American breweries. They are also located in a barn originally built in the late 1800s with a beautiful view overlooking Keuka lake. 17 great beers on tap, inexpensive flights and merchandise, knowledgeable and friendly employees. Overall great place. Highly recommend if you're ever in the area.

Here in Kentucky, Country Boy. They're a pretty small operation, by no means the smallest. Hopefully they can expand a bit and get more beers out on the shelves around here.

If I'm limiting it to the scope of my town/suburbs, Hermitage Brewing makes a lot of great single hop IPAs and has an all around solid lineup. If I expand that a bit, Cellarmaker is doing a lot of exciting things and they're a 45 minute drive from where I'm at.

In my own state, probably Country Boy. Venturning out a bit further, 3 Floyds takes the cake IMO.

Not sure. I've got 5 to choose from right in town, 2 more in neighboring towns, and another 4 just in the next county. So, it's either Boundary Bay, Wander, Chuckanut, Menace, Aslan, Kulshan, North Fork, Skagit River, North Sound, Anacortes, or Flyers. :grinning:

Revolution. The tap room is close to my apartment, the staples (anti hero, Eugene porter) are great and their seasonals and barrel aged offerings are fantastic.

@do_ob - nice to see a fellow Swans fan here.

About equal distance from these guys. Fonta Flora and Olde Hickory, different styles produced by each of them, so Im happy to say both are equally phenomenal!

Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.. voted best new brewery in the world by a few publications when they started around two years ago. They brew most (all?) of their beer with local ingredients and are even going to start growing their own hops in AZ to include in the beers. Hops don't grow here. They will find a way.

Carton makes some incredible beers. Their regular beers: Boat, 077XX, Red's rye, BDG are all solid to great.
There small batch beers are always incredible.
I will be stopping by tomorrow.

I used to be within walking distance of Parallel 49, Storm, Bomber, and Powell Street. Now I'm closer to Main Street, Brassneck, 33 Acres, and R&B. I haven't tried them all yet, but so far, Parallel 49 is my favourite. I've liked almost everything I've had from there, and I like that there's always trying new things. My favourite brewpub though, would be Howe Sound, which is a bit farther away in Squamish.

Wiseacre in Memphis,TN. They have great year round brews especially Gotta Get Up to Get Down(coffee milk stout) and awesome yearly limited releases. Astronaut Status is an excellent BA Imperial Stout. It's up there with BCBS. They are putting Memphis on the map.
