Lost Forty in Little Rock Arkansas by a long shot. I love every beer they make.

@OP...My alma mater is St. John Fisher College. I miss that area greatly! Good beer and good people! I've since moved to upstate ny and the local breweries here are watered down wanna-be's.

Fx Matt ( brews Saranac, Lake Placid and Sackets Harbor garbage) Every spin they put on beer is a watered down one.

Skewed Brewing -- Laughable approach to brewing located in a Mall next to a Movie Theater and food court.
Middle Ages-- Typical watered down fan fair with the occasional stab at some high gravity beer that ends up turding

All the good ones are not local to me -

Ithaca, Ommegang, Captain Lawerence, Brooklyn, Six Point,

Local to San Diego and I like breweries for different reasons...

    Favorite for the beer

My favorite beer comes from Societe. It's a shame they're not bottling yet or more people could get their hands on "The Pupil" - my favorite local IPA (http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28994/81838/). They simply have beautiful smooth beers. I lined up a tasting of their triple IPA (The Miser) against Pliny the Younger and personally thought it was on par. Love their stuff!

    Favorite for atmosphere
This has gotta be Stone in Escondido. The gardens are beautiful and the brewery tour is really fun/educational. They offer movie nights in their gardens during the summer where you can lay out a blanket and sip some Enjoy By...it's really wonderful

Favorite to bring out of towners to
I love bringing out of town friends to Mission brewery in downtown, right next to the ballpark. There's nothing better than enjoying craft beer and walking to Petco park to take in a Padres game. Bonus, they may be good this year?!

I grew up in Santa Cruz and all my family's still out there, so I was stoked to finally visit Sante Adairius last summer. The beer was awesome and the scene was crowded but nicely low key, and I'm pleased that my future visit-the-family trips will also be beer-destination trips.

But mostly I'm in Boston and my favorite local brewers are the fine folks at Pretty Things.

Wolf Ridge Columbus Ohio. Significantly more upscale than the average brew pub but they have some outstanding food and tasty beer

So many to choose from, but if I have pick one that has a great combination of good beer, cool people, and a fun atmosphere it would be Yolo in West Sacramento.

Henniker brewing company is about 15 minutes from me. Easy to get to, good beers and excellent growler prices. They recently aduusted their ipa recipe and it's pretty darn good. Candia Road brewing/Nepenthe ales make some great beers, are a convenient place to get homebrew gear and the dude that runs it is awesome

Troegs, though it's an hour away, and pizza boy is also great, but troegs has a special place in my heart.

If we're talking super local as in, even closer, liquid hero is 5-10 minutes from me and I like going there

Not much to choose from in RI. I guess Foolproof but I would say Narragansett if they were an actual RI brewery.
