Left hand (founded in 1993 ) does make a fantastic milk stout, but the OG? That title would have to go to Mackeson's xxx which debuted in1907.

My personal favourite is probably Bell's special double cream.

He meant it was the OG compared to the Nitro version.

Well, technically...[oh, no...]... Mackeson XXX is the export version w/higher abv of around 5%. The original was just Mackeson Milk Stout - the UK label 1950s, (below left) had dropped the "Milk" - IIRC, by gov't regulation.

Not sure when the XXX first hit the US (and, more than likely, the Caribbean market) but the US was still getting the stout just labeled "Mackeson Stout" as late as the mid-1970s (below, center). And, to further confuse matters, the "export" XXX-Triple Stout version was eventually brewed under license domestically in the US by Boston Beer Co. in Cincinnati (below, right) and by The Lion in PA in the early 2000s.

Really tough to beat the canned stuff from Tree House..
    Somewhere, Something Incredible..
    Single Shots
    Moment of Clarity
    Hold On to Sunshine

Sometimes I just get into a phase where I trade for tons of the stuff. Gotta drink them fresh, though.

OG refers to the Original Milk Stout from Left Hand, not the Nitro version. It has nothing to do with being the Original maker of Mike Stout.

Yes, Tree House is the current kings of making <8% ABV milk/sweet stouts IMO. If any of you haven't had any yet, worth trading or traveling to the source for. Its will be a true "ah hah" moment in your beer drinking journey (was for me anyway).

And their value is basically cost at this point! Best value in trading right now.
