We all know them... the chilled pint glasses, decent tap list. multiple TV's tuned into games or ESPN talk..., lottery ticket machines, or Quick Pick screens, wings, etc. What are some of your favorites without skimping on the beers offered? Good, quality beers? And a great environment?

Croxley's. Hard to beat that 20 cent wing special and 50 taps.

Also Brooklyn Tap House is a great craft beer sports bar with 40 taps.

Some of you may be familiar with a Southern chain called Taco Mac, but I feel like NYC needs a place like that . Tons of TVs and somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 drafts and 200+ bottles. Closest thing in Manhattan is probably Beer Authority... which doesn't even come close.

My favorite, because it's 2 blocks from my apt, is Rattle N Hum -- although it doesn't quite fit into your description.

Someone told me there's a place a block or two from MSG???? Buffalo Wild Wings?? I don't really like the place, LOL. Their food sucks, as well. What's the bar people go to before and after a Knicks and Ranger's game?

Stout nearby Penn Station/MSG isn't so bad.

It's the bar Tastee referred to. Stout. It's a great place when it's not packed, the problem is...it's always packed. Good food, decent taps (nothing great) and a lot of TVs.

Agreed. Pretty much like most places in Manhattan. Ginger Man from 5p to 10p is awful. Ginger Man at any other time ... amazing.

How is Ginger Man and Tastee before Happy Hour? Say, like 2:30 PM? Great responses.. Thank you! Keep 'em coming!!

Hahaha, it's called Stout on 33rd right off of 7th Ave. Tastee is the poster who was talking about it.

Really, I don't live in Manhattan, I'd rather go to a place in Manhattan that serves good beer and try to sit by a television if possible. I'm old, so I'd rather drink what's in my fridge or basement and watch my own tv. The sports bars I know about in NYC were more appealing to me when I was younger and willing to put up with a ton of people at the bar.

I am old, too. But I definitely enjoy the ambiance of a spots bar. Makes me fell younger than my 56 years!

Ginger Man at off-hours (weekdays until perhaps 4pm and after 10pm) is great, but I think they have only one TV in the back that they turn on only occasionally. Rattle N Hum nearby has more TVs and is rarely "rowdy".

I used to live by a smaller spot, Manchester Pub, on Second Avenue. They are big into soccer and it definitely has a neighborhood feel. Not as many draft choices... perhaps 15.
