I'm on my second 12 pk of the Sierra Nevada. Love this beer, and it gets more drinkable as you go.

Sprecher Oktoberfest, one of the best! When comparing, this is one that has to be considered!

    Here's my list (for now):
    1. Ayinger
    2. Berkshire
    3. Weihenstephaner
    4. Victory
    5. Spaten

Berkshire Oktoberfest was a huge surprise for me last year- its absolutely fantastic, even if it isn't entirely 'traditional' since it's a strong one. Make sure to seek it out if you're in the New England area.

This year, I'm looking forward to trying:
    - Sierra Nevada/Brauhaus Riegele Oktoberfest
    - Jack's Abby Copper Legend Märzen
    - others, to be determined

Both yuengling and Sierra Nevada surprised me with how tasty they were. A little let down by Victorys Festbier this year. I get much more coffee and chocolate than I like in a Märzen.

Thus far... Paulaner blows EVERYTHING out of the water... Shiner is pretty good , Goose Island had a excellent rendition as well, Will be trying Odell this weekend.... If anything can come close to Paulaner it will be this one I recond.....

Sierra Nevada's this year destroys all American examples that I have had. Looking forward to Metropolitan's though. International imported best is probably Ayinger. Great Lakes is too sweet with too much caramel malt.

Not a marzen, but a Franconian style dunkel (which I find closer to a marzen than a dunkel). Prost brewing in Colorado, to be specific.

I'm a big fan of Metropolitan, but their version was very disappointing to me when I had it in the past. I'm by no means saying you shouldn't give it a shot, though. In fact, if I see it on tap, I'll give it another shot.
