I only got to go to the HF lunch at Jose Pistolas. It was really good. Very crowded but I got to enjoy many Abners, Edwards, and WIEs. the bar staff worked their tails off. The HF guys were there and were really great to talk to about their craft. I am addicted to their beer.....phenomenal stuff. Glad it's only a 9hr drive north....I couldn't make it til next PBW.

My favorite event was the bottle share that went on at my place from Wednesday the 6th through Saturday the 9th. Great time with some awesome BA's

My favorite event was the Dogfish Extreme Homebrew competition at Jose Pistola's. The event itself was a cluster, but I was able to drink Tom Bastian's Death Metal and Belgian Death Metal in abundance. Hands down one of the best beers I've ever had and it was great seeing people try it and come back for more.

The conflicts are what helps keep the crowds down at most places. If they spread it out, every event would be nuts to butts.

You hit the nail on the head. As it is, Philly Beer Week is getting so popular, that in conjunction with the rise in popularity and knowledge of craft beer, every event is damn near packed to the gills no matter how many are going on concurrently. The demand, especially during that week, is quickly getting to the point where it far outweighs the supply. I don't think any event I attended this past week qualified as anything remotely close to low key. I figured Pistola's would be a great place to go for Hill Farmstead. It was smack in the middle of the week, starting in the morning. It was packed like any other event on a Saturday. Next year, word will spread further, and it'll be more crowded still. I think it's a trend that simply cannot be avoided at this point.

Uh, Friday isn't really in the middle of the week but I agree with the rest of your statement. Maybe you meant Founders since I saw you there and that was on Tuesday?

Yes...I did. Sorry. Went to the HF event at Pistola's too. Couldn't recall which event was which day. It was a long two weeks for me.

No worries, I was just confused. As I said, I agreed either way.

The funny thing about both lunches is that Founders was busy earlier, but Hill Farmstead was more crowded for way longer. Once CBS ran out, a lot of people left.
