I love 6th Glass. Avery Reverend is a good one too. Quads are just good.

Victory - V-Twelve is one of those diamond in the rough beers that gets lost in the Quad shuffle.

I love the abt 12, when I started my beer cellar it's the first thing i picked up, still haven't opened a single bottle of the oak aged yet, the timing never feels right nor the moment momentous enough

Excellent choices! I've had almost all of those over the years.

    Cheers!

Like many here I've had the Westvleteren 12 and I honestly feel that some of what makes it so popular is the relative difficulty in obtaining it. We always want what is just out of reach. IMO, if it is superior to Rochefort 10 it is so by only the thinnest of margins. And when it comes to cost, there is no comparison. When I lived in Canada the Rochefort 10 could be had for about $3 a bottle. The 24 bottle case of Westvleteren 12 I bought a couple of years ago averaged about $15 per bottle.

N'ice Chouffe. Really nice spices, the ultimate winter warmer.

Who said anything about drinking it fresh? I bought one of my Rocheforts 10s from a store that tends to have things around for a while and I think the 10 had been sitting around for at least a year before I bought it, and then it stuck around in my cellar for another year or so. And I did think it was pretty excellent, I just thought the balance, burn, and flavor profile on 8 was more reasonable, while the 10 seemed more like everything about it was trying too hard, like a fine steak with too much seasoning and sauce. It's made with the same recipe as the 8, so if I'm supposed to cellar 10 for a decade until the yeast and fusel flavors mellow out it tastes more like 8, I'd rather just skip the years of waiting (or drink any of the other quads I like better).

You'd be surprised how much beer is making it to China these days. My cousin sends me beer lists from Shanghai and Hong Kong and sometimes they make me jealous. It appears there's plenty of good craft to be had out there if one knows where to look.

Fergit Belgian-style quads, go for the Holy Grail -- Knee Deep's Hop-D-Ranged, a quadruple IPA.

Yeah, but my point is that it won't taste like the 8. The 8 fades after two years in the cellar and becomes really thin. The 10 peaks at 5 years.

I hope someday Unibroue's Grande Réserve 17 gets mentioned in these lists. Absolutely fantastic!

Without getting too much into semantics, I never really think of that as a "quad" (though a questionable style in itself). An amazing beer, but pretty different to most of the other beers mentioned.

As stated before in other quad threads, not a real Belgian(-style) quad.
