I'm hoping to get one more brew in before baby, needless to say I haven't exactly had the time to plan as I normally do. I've not brewed from a book before exactly as written, which I don't have a great reason for other than recipe design calculations are one of my favorite parts of brewing. So now seems like a logical time to try.

I'm not really settled on a style, I'll probably go with something that is okay if it doesn't get packaged right away.

So, what is your favorite beer that you've brewed from a book?

"Brewing Classic Styles" has a lot of award winning recipes in it. But I can't say I've ever brewed one of them exactly as written. Also, have you taken a look at the recipe sub-forum -> HERE < ?

Never from a book, but John snows house pale is a great one.

If you are able to brew a lager style, my favorite that I have brewed from the book, Clone Brews, is the Ayinger Maibock. I've liked the results so much that I've brewed it several times.

    Good luck with the baby!

I have brewed the Brewing Classic Styles 60 Shilling as written, and the Northern English Brown (Nutcastle) with one substitution. It's helped me set boundaries for lots of the beers I brewed, although usually I can't resist an ingredient tweak here or a process adjustment there,

I've checked the different recipes and forums, just figured authors of books have a base level of credibility and probably have been tested by some more people. I know that there are a lot of great brews posted on the forum, but I'm sure there are some on the other end. That was just my basic thought, can't say that it is a perfect thought.

I do have the ability, I never really even thought about doing a lager for the next one. You may have something here for me. (And Thanks, my wife and I are super excited).
