I wouldn't say this is the best by any means, but Evil Twin Bikini Beer, for being 2.7% is pretty damn good. Tasted better out of the can then pouring into a glass

This, while perfectly true, completely misses the whole point. The term doesn't relate to the drinker but to the beer. It's the modern expression for what was once known as "small beer", it's quite independent of interpretation of session length or the individual's alcohol tolerance . A racing car remains a racing car even in the garage because that's what it is.A family car remains a family car however you drive it. It's in the design.
4-6 "beers" (if anyone round here talks about "a beer" the assumption is that means an Imperial pint) is hardly a "session" in a beer drinking culture such as here , a session is an extended period during which you drink as many pints as you feel like ,which is usually more than you intended!

Did anyone bother to ask the OP what definition he was looking for?

That would end this discussion, help the OP, and clear things up if that is the first question asked in the subsequent 50 session beer threads to come.

I would absolutely love if there was a brewery like this in Boston.

I guess Marquis' point is that the definition isn't open for interpretation if you refer to "session beer" as opposed to "sessionable beer" or "beer you like to drink lots of in one sitting"

Sorry. I went by the guidelines that the Bros. defined for session beers (even though I was .1% abv over) since it's the site we are on. In the future I will check with you before posting on this matter since it seems to be a touchy subject for you.

Because there are relatively few beers in the US of below 4% and as cask ale is rare there have been "redefinitions" of the term to widen the net. This of course completely defeats the whole point , it's all about the strength.

I was going to say Sidekick, but I would rather not end up in a police cell or emergency room.

Talk to the Bros then because I'm sure I'm not the only person that uses their definition.

Yuengling Lager for me but when Odell's Loose Leaf hits six packs next year, I think that might take the throne.

Any beer you can drink 3+ beers in a session and not feel like your "forcing" down the beer due to too much flavor that overwhelms or you get drunk on after only 3. That is the best session beer for the individual. To each there own.

Mine I guess is either Rolling Rock or Coors light with great regret. Most any craft beer, 3+ beers is just too much flavor for me. Even Sam Adams lager, pils, ale etc. beers are too much for me after drinking more than 2 in a single sitting. I usually stop enjoying the flavor after 2.
