I've been insanely addicted to sours over the past few months and am quickly running out of options to try! Are there any good "sleeper" sours out there that people may not know about but are easily obtained? I love all the Russian River sours, and a few other big sour producing breweries. I'm dying for a crazy, mouth-puckering sour.

I tried Jolly Pumpkin's Madrugada Obscura (a sour stout) and was blown away by how delicious it was!

Rodenbach Red or Duchesses de Bourgoune are excellent Flemish Red Ales and have that awesome sour funkiness going on. But for a true sleep, my choice would be White Gold from Ithaca Brewing.

I hope you've tried Tart Of Darkness. Pretty damned sour.

Haven't been able to get my hands on one :slight_frown: however I did just pick up a couple Oude Tart's from them. Pretty delicious.

Bruery has some good ones that you've likely had if you've gotten your hands on all the RR stuff. Cascade (my personal experience is limited but I know they be good stuff). My fav's are various Cantillons - the kriek was deliciously sour.

For a cheaper gueze that's real sour and quite nice, I like Mort Subite oude gueuze.

I'd kill to try some Cantillons, considering I hear they are top-notch. I've only had Oude Tart form the Bruery. I heard windowsill is supposed to be great

Also was in the Avery tap room in Boulder and had Arameta VI. It was a key-lime sour and it was un-real.

New Glarus Wild Sour is probably the best sour I've ever had. The fact that it was sold in 4packs for $10 is just unreal. Trade for some while you can.

Boulevard's Love Child is super sour and delicious--No. 3 just won gold at the GABF.

Also, if you want to get sort of a taste of Cantillon without the hassle of ordering online and paying the crazy shipping costs, Tilquin Oude Gueuze is a nice approximation, since they use Cantillon lambic to make their gueuze. Also, I personally like St. Louis Gueuze Fond Tradition, which is pretty readily available, I believe.

Lastly, you probably are aware of these, being in Colorado, but New Belgium La Foile and Le Terroir are both fantastic.

Are you in Denver (or near Denver?) I come into Denver about once every 3-4 weeks. Beermail me where you live and we can put together a tasting; I'll bring all the beers, including several Cantillons, 3 Fonteniens, and several others. It would be my pleasure and I've done tasting with people all over the country this way. I love doing tastings with new groups. So, for real...let me know if you're interested.

My store just got Green Monster by Deschutes. I won't be able to pick it up for another week and a half, but I've hear it's amazing! Though not high end, make sure to try Brux and Stony Brook Red, if you can.
