I also enjoy Weyerbacher Tarte Nouveau but too many gives me stomach aches. It would be a constant favorite if not for that.

    I really like many, but...
is my favorite although no two bottles have tasted the same

All six or seven of deGarde's ales that I have had have been really special
    [IMG]

Cascade's Figaro (and many others) are unique (and sadly, rare) treats!

24 replies and no SARA yet? My half-dozen favorites with no category constraints, starting from the highest rated:

SARA Westly - beat Fou Foune in a side-by-side. Unbelieveable beer.

Gueuze Tilquin - on draught, this one blew me away

    Rare Barrel Ensorcelled

Anchorage Bitter Monk - so wonderful that it's fairly easy to get!

SARA Cask Strawberry - in some ways my absolute most favorite beer even if it's not the one that I rate the best. It brings me such happiness -- is that a weird thing to say?

I think folks are confused about Brett...it doesn't create a drop in pH to the point of "sour"...Brett creates that barnyard funk and tropical fruit character, but not really a souring effect. Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), like the various Lactobacillus species and Pediococcus, produce the drop in pH that truly sours beer. Some Brett beers use lacto/pedio as well to achieve the tartness that some confuse as a purely "Brett sour".

Some of my favorite American sours are...
    Wicked Weed Medora
    Wicked Weed Recurrent
    Wicked Weed Oblivion
    Wicked Weed Pompeon
    Wicked Weed Perzik Morte
    Wicked Weed Kiwi Morte
Any of the Angel series from Wicked Weed
    deGarde Bu Weisse
    deGarde Blu Bu
    deGarde Raz Bu
    deGarde Azacca Hose
    deGarde Equinox Hose
    deGarde The Lily
    Cascade Blueberry
    Cascade Kriek
    Cascade Frite Gaulois
    Cascade Figaro
Any of the Cascade Sang beers (Noir, Rogue & Royal)
    Carolina Baernhaus Opuntia
    Carolina Baernhaus Whisky Sour
    Carolina Baernhaus June Princess
    Russian River Supplication
    Russian River Consecration
    Russian River Temptation
Birds Fly South Peach Berliner Weisse
    Birds Fly South False Face
    Birds Fly South Sour IPA
Westbrook Whiskey Sour Weisse Weisse Baby
    D9 Whiskers On Kitten
    D9 Ezekiel 25:17
My home brewed Berliner Weisses, Oud Bruins and Watermelon Sour

    Just to name a few...

Oh man I don't even know where to start. But I CAN tell you how much I have been loving the stuff coming out of Tahoe Mountain Brewery, and the much younger Phantom Carriage out of Carson, CA lately. Cheers!

After having a bad experience with a vinegary sour beer, I had sworn them off. I am on a quest to try all styles, and in order to experience a Fruit Lambic, I opted to try Lindemans Framboise (raspberry). Wow - sour but also sweet and fruity, trying their Kriek (cherry) next. Besides the beer itself, these are very interesting. You remove the foil and cap, only to find a cork! Then when you're done with the beer you realize the bottle is several times heavier than a normal beer bottle. Low ABV at 2.5% but what a treat!

I only drink sours and have been drinking them about 9 months. The best of what I've had are: (in no order)

    Snozzberry - Green Man
    Fuzzy - Side Project
    Red Angel - Wicked Weed
Gose - Westbrook (pumped for key lime Gose coming soon)
    Athena Paradiso - Creature Comforts
Petite Golden Sour - The collective brewing project
Nocturn gin barrel aged - Jester King
    Supplication - RR
    O&P - Jester King
Caractere Rouge - Rodenbach (I've got 6 Alexander's but haven't drank one yet)
Garçon de Ferme - Wicked Weed
Tokyo Gose - Zebulon (pickled ginger Gose. It's amazing)

Trying the Golden Angel for the first time Saturday. Pretty excited. They're also having the Red, White, and Angel of Darkness all on tap for the release party at The Funkatorium.
