What is your favorite suburban brewery?

Here is a list (not comprehensive) of many of them: Church Street, Lunar, Flesk, Emmetts, Rock Bottom, Brick Stone, Solemn Oath, Lake Bluff, One Trick Pony, Wild Onion, Only Child, Penrose, Two Brothers, Urban Legend. I am sure there are more.

For me, I think it is the tried and true Two Brothers. Large distribution, great taproom/restaurant, and some killer beers like Sidekick Pale Ale, Revelry, Cane and Ebel, Domaine Dupage. I also love Solemn Oath, Lunar, and have enjoyed Flesk and Urban Legend.

One trick pony is worth the trip, i recommend storm cat (a hopped amber) and marsh tacky (stout)

Ten ninety just hit the shelves in western burbs today. Super stoked. Their IPA was awesome. I think all their beers are imperial.

Probably One Trick Pony and Solemn Oath at the moment, although Two Brothers will always have a special place in my heart.

I really want to love Horse Thief Hollow because it's so close to me, but I've yet to be blown away by anything there.

I'm looking forward to checking out Buckle Down soon. Hopefully that will be another solid option on the South Side.

Had a pretty damn good Pale Ale from them last week on draft at World of beer. Think it might have been that chilly water, barkeep recommended it after they were out of DC. It was a solid choice for sure.

Two Brothers is all grown up. They make quality beer.

Solemn Oath is doing AWESOME stuff in so many different styles. Kind if blows my mind.

Flesk makes pale beers. Really like Front Forward Enemy a lot.

Starting to try some Urban Legend stuff. So far it's been decent.

Overall, it's Two Brothers & Solemn Oath for me. Solemn Oath has some serious beer nerds making their beers. Tried many new types of beer because of them.

I keep hearing good things about One Trick Pony. I think I'm gonna make a trip of it later this week once all the bad weather has passed. Any recommendations/style they do particularly well? And what's the growler pricing/policy look like? There isn't a whole lot of info on their site.

I honestly haven't had anything I haven't liked apart from one of their fruit beers (peach?). Their pales, Belgians and stouts are all solid. They're also really good about giving away free tastes, so just ask if there's anything you'd like to try. I haven't gotten any growlers there, but from what I remember the pricing is reasonable.

Growlers are four bucks and fills of their standard stuff is 12 bucks and half off on Mondays. I've seen their high octane stuff go for around 26 bucks. They'll fill any growler.

Everything is pretty solid and to style.

Since it is 1 and a half miles from my house, this is my choice as well.

chris aka TAA brews for one trick pony and brews out of one trick pony for his own transient brand. Great dude and great beers both at one trick pony & TAA.
