I am a huge fan of DIPA's but not as much in the summer. Really liked Victorys Summer Love last year and was wondering what other members are drinking in the heat.

Also, are there any stronger (higher alcohol content) summer brews out there?

For me it is New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat, one of the best american hefes and a style I really only drink on a hot day because nothing else hits that spor the way a nice hefe does. Also a lot of session beers.

Odell's St. Lupulin is a nice summer seasonal, imo. Been enjoying that one a good deal lately.

I definitely think there's a spike in my consumption of German beer during the summer months. Helles, Pilsner, and weizen are all summer staples for me. Stoudt's Gold Lager is a particular favorite.

Generally, I associate "summer beer" with lower alcohol content, but if it's really important to you, maybe seek out some Belgian strong pales. Generally light in body, but high in flavor and alcohol. North Coast's Pranqster is a good, relatively inexpensive option.

I like a sharp crisp IPA in the heat, Caldera is a nice pool ,beach, summer IPA. Or a Miler Lite.

I see a lot of Troegs Sunshine Pils, Lancaster Kolsch and Prof Fritz Berliner Weiss in my future- they're superb styles for the sun and heat, and those are some pretty great examples of each. For a change of pace I also will throw some Schlenkerla Helles in there, as well as some Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin.

I've been drinking a good amount of Sierra Nevada Summerfest, and Odell St. Lupulin since both have come out.

You hit it with Summer Love. Very good beer. CCB Jai Alai is a good one for me also. I will also do a Corona Light and Lime at the beach.

Even though I'll get ripped for it, I've always liked Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy as a summer beer.

Altho' I'm a huge fan off AAL's, I really like Noble, Summerfest, and a local, Marshall Old Pavillion Pils. German helles, imported Czech pils too. Also American wheats, like Boulevard. It's all about BBQ, family and a (not-so) friendly game of horseshoes. My people will drink anything from Milwaukee's Best, to Chimay Blue.

HotD Blue Dot (Sure it's an IIPA, but a totally unbalanced, citrusy hop bomb of an IIPA works for me in the Summer)

I didn't try them until after last Summer, but I've got a feeling Logsdon's Seizoen Bretta and Green Flash's Rayon Vert will be regulars this Summer.

'Gansett summer all the way, I don't know how many cans I had last year. Also the Harpoon Raspberry UFO finds my way to the fridge along with the normal pale ales and IPAs.
