Very kid friendly. We have been bringing our 14 month old since she was 4 months old. Long communal tables, and usually lots of young families there. Its loud enough where kid noises blend in. The pizza is good too, and family friendly restrooms.

Beer Works are located in great locations (Garden, Salem, Lowell, etc). Always something on tap for everyone too, from beergeek stuff to "safe" & fruity offerings. Plus they have that rare thing not prevalent in beergeek haunts: TV's.

I'm a little surprised nobody has mentioned Cape Ann Brewing yet. Sitting on the deck on a warm summer day is so relaxing. Ipswich Brewery's new bar/restaurant is pretty laid back. I like that they don't have TVs throughout the bar. I'll give another shout-out to the Tap in Haverhill as well. The deck is a great place to have a beer on a warm day.

I don't want this thread to die-my wife, the kids, and I went down to Wormtown today. I was pleasantly surprised by the space; it helped that we were there at 2pm on a Wednesday, but the tap room/outside patio was a pretty sweet combination. The bartender, (can't remember his name; red head with a beard) was quite friendly and knowledgeable about the beer and even altered the playlist to skip songs with explicit lyrics. And then there was the beer... The DIPA was stellar and the X version was even better. I also enjoyed there strong ale; it was complex but not overwhelming. Of course I left being hoppy! I will definitely go again.

Second that, Wormtown is great this time of year if its not busy. When crowded bc winter/weather/crowds it's lousy though. Too small inside and terrible layout.
