Some strange answers. Beer over about 4% ABV doesn't quench thirst. That leaves a hell of a lot of delicious tasty beer.Cool but not cold is best-you can gulp it down better. Love a mild or light bitter on a hot day. Actually I like them on a cold day or any other sort of day , but when I'm thirsty it's straight to the pub for a pint or three of them
Come to think of it, I'm getting thirsty now.The nearest pub is only 5 minutes walk away and three others not much further...........

What a lovely picture. Nice summer day, eating at an outdoor biergarten with a cold beer. Mmmm...

To answer the OP, a nice crisp, cold, craft Pilsner.

I usually default to a blonde ale, a craft or import pilsner/lager - my two big ones are DAB original and Pilsner urquell. Can't go wrong with a belgian style witbier either.

full sail session red, nothing like a good pre-prohibition american lager or victory prima pils(my usual after surf brew). Or a good dry cider (i.e.blackthorn)
