Favorite times to visit bars

On vacation, San Diego, Toronado, Monday afternoon, $3 local drafts.

 

I try to get there anywhere from 3 to 5 p.m. when there's almost never a crowd.

In fact I'm posting this from the Old Bank of England in London; it's 4:30 here and I'm almost the only one in the place!

 

Anytime at a bar is a good time.

 

I go to the same place most Sundays in the fall to watch football. Don't really go there much outside of that. I met a buddy there last month and asked the waitress what craft beers they had. Her response was "Well, we have Miller Lite, Coors..."

 

I'm 30 now, and college isn't THAT long ago. Back then we used to party in the house and then not even LEAVE to go to the bars until midnight or 1am (just like everyone else). It would be jam packed and loud as hell. Now that just sounds painful to me. Give me some good ol' day drinking on a summer day.

Depending on the bar, the second they update their beermenus.

I prefer a bar that is not crowded, has a relaxed atmosphere and plays some good tunes.

 

I'm the same age. I look forward to 3 p.m. beers now after a round of 18. I can't imagine leaving for the bars at 10-11 like we did in college.

 

Right after work, nothing better than that first taste of beer after a long hard day. Also, prefer hitting up the bar on the weekends in the early afternoon. Bars are usually pretty dead then and it's always nice getting an afternoon buzz and going home to drink your beer at home once the crowds come out. Makes me sound old, but I did enough of the waiting in lines for beer at the bar in my college days so I try to avoid excessive crowds and noise these days.

You're idea of boring is my idea of a perfect bar. I like it at home and only go to bars when there is something I want to try there. Nothing ruins a beer for me like a bunch of loud drunk people or music so loud I have to turn up my miracle ear.

 

There is a difference in a lively bar a loud drunk people yelling. But I am with you on music. If you have it, I want it soft in the background. Don't like TVs everywhere either.

 

When it's not crowded.

 

Finding a quiet bar, with decent taps at 4:00 on a Saturday is a beautiful thing.

 

That's why I'm glad that even tough I live in NJ, I work in Manhattan!
