I'm not sure it's my favorite non-IPA beer from Vermont, but the kristallweizen I had from Fiddlehead last summer was the perfect thing in hot weather, and it was a real treat given how hard is to find the style and how much I enjoyed it during a semester I spent in Berlin several years ago.

I haven't visited Crop yet, but if his beers are anywhere near as good as they were when he was brewing at Moat Mountain, then I'd check out the helles, hefeweizen and brown ale (among others) that Will Gilson is brewing there.

I've also enjoyed the ESBs at McNeill's and Zero Gravity, as well as the dunkel at Trapp.

Pretty much any lager from Bobcat, as well as some of their Belgian styles.

    Rock Art Vermonster.

The already mentioned HF saisons. I think their Everett is the best porter available too.

Unfortunately, the Alchemist sour beers from the old brewpub:slight_frown:

This really ought to be the Alchemist's next move.

I wasn't aware that any non-IPAs worth drinking were brewed in Vermont.

Otter Creek makes a decent porter. I will also give props to Gravity Brewing (aka Flatbread) in Burlington.

Wolaver's Oatmeal Stout. A close approximation of my fave stout in MA (Ipswich).

Runner-up: Switchback Amber. It's everywhere & really drinkable.

For those near the BTV/South BTV region (because mag is based in Burlington/South Burlington), if you like to be interviewed/quoted on your favorite go-to Vermont summer/grilling beer (you can include IPAs), send me a PM and I can provide details. Requirements are basically: name, city, headshot, and ~100 word answer. I can wordsmith/help, if needed. Looking for 4 people/answers.

    Thanks

probably Bobcat Cafe Saison or Saison Cassis. Mark's Gose collab with Loupe Rouge last summer was incredible as well

I couldn't believe how much I liked this beer. Obviously Everett too, but if you are talking about more readily available options I would also put a vote in for Stovepipe Porter.
