PtE would be the easy pick but I'm going with Alpine Duet even though it's been over a year since I had it last.

I had taken a bit of a hiatus from the IPA scene, and didn't have much experience with the West Coast offerings to begin with.

Right now I would have to say it's Enjoy By

Ruination 10th Anniversary/RuinTen. Hopefully they'll bring that back someday.
Otherwise, I love all of the hoppy beers from Firestone Walker and Russian River.

I have never had the pleasure of trying Pliny The Elder, so unable to crown that King like most.

Title of this thread made me laugh. Little redundant no? Like asking "Favorite American baseball team?"

Yeah, theres the Blue Jays, but like most east coast IPA's, they've sucked for a long time.

Got to try it once - it was 2 months old, so should have still been good, though maybe starting to loose it by a hair - I couldn't see what the fuss was about. The bitterness had no compliment, and wasn't the supporting actor as it should be - it played the lead while flavor took a backseat. Would love to try a fresher one.

Alpine Nelson and Blind Pig are two of my recent favorites (hard to get on east coast). In terms of ease, I'm a big fan of FW Double Jack and Stone Enjoy By series.

Currently drinking Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye. Hop bitterness is a little overwhelming for me, but I'm not as big a fan of hop bombs in general. OP will probably like it a lot more.

Sculpin, Pliny, Sucks, Racer 5... there's really too many excellent ones to narrow it down. Wouldn't say no to any of the top 20-25 West Coast IPAs at all (something I assume is the case for most).

perhaps it was just one of those batches /bottles that didnt come out right maybe. I had it a few months back and thought it was outstanding, I actually preferd it to the Pliny I had also picked up, blasphemy I know, but thats just me.
