I suspect so, basically enjoyed Powers when I first came to Aus so on the money there, suspect it was a freebie as well, can't see me parting with my hard-earned. Tho I do recall Powers making a 'comeback' in the late 90s, I suspect contract brewed.

A question to those that have the Spieglau IPA glass - how are you finding it after a few weeks? worthwhile? only for hop-forward beers or used more widely??

I'm not sure its the best glass for IPAs. It pushes out the CO2 a bit like a Weizen glass. You get some flavour but it kills the carbonation a bit when you get to the bottom. Jury is still out for me.

i reckon its a great glass, i mainly use it for hop forward beers but im sure we all have favourite glasses for various styles. one for the collection for sure.

I use it for everything but it needs a really good clean between uses. It's a prick to clean.

    It sure is.
I have a very thorough cleaning regime for my glassware involving a scrubing brush/bucket (the ones you will find in any good bar) and it works great for most common glasses but not that one.
It is a decent glass (have had a couple of them since August so have put a fair amount of beer in them since) but it is not a must have. It works decently with an IPA but really no better than many tall white wine glasses or the Speiglau tulip/pint or surprisingly weizen glass does.
The big speiglau weizen glass is the surprise for me with an IPA hopped highly with US hops- great glass for that type of beer. It doesn't however work as well with an IPA that is high in British or Kiwi hops. Those beers seem to perform better in the pint/tumbler(they call it a lager glass) or tulip.
I have had Speiglau glasses for about 3 years now and am VERY impressed. I was slow to convert but am now a massive fan.
Well made and surprisingly strong, I haven't broken a single one yet.

No such problems with this. Just ordered one from Germany for shits and giggles mainly, and to show off to guests. Rarely see a dirty beer glass in Germany.

    Nice bit of kit.
Whilst mine is not quite as fancy as that one (no built in rinser) it is pretty well the same thing. The problem is the shape of the stem of that IPA glass doesn't allow for easy scrubbing.
    I hate dirty glasses.
