Other - North Coast Scrimshaw. I really enjoy a number of those listed above as well (Prima, Czechvar) but had to go with this one as a year-round, always reliable favorite. Moonlight Reality Czech is absolutely superb, for those of you who can find it in Sonoma/Bay Area.

Nooner because it's great and the price is right. When out for the night, though, I like local options, Bent Paddle Pilsner and Bauhaus Wonderstuff.

I've heard people say that. But I've not been able get it yet. Looking forward though.

None of the above. STS & Scrimshaw Pils blow all the options out da water.

Has it changed in 4 years? From my review of 2012:
You sure it's not really a Kölsch? I'll stick with Trumer.

Trumer isn't a bad option. Nice pick.

To answer your question, I don't know. Never read too much into it. Ive just always found Scrimshaw a solid offering as a Pils or lighter beer option under 5%ABV.

It has a little hop bite to it, but I think overall it's a bit more malty than Prima. Would definitely be a great summer brew!

It really isn't a Pilsner, it may be called so on this site, but New Glarus calls it a Classic Country Lager. These are often the type of Lagerbier that one finds in and around Bamberg, the home of Weyermann malting.

To make one you would use Pils malt, Munich malt, and a little caramunich. A Pils would be just Pils malt, and maybe some carafoam and a pinch of caramel.

I really like Two Women lager. It is representative of those beers, as I am sure the Carreys intended.

Out of all I have rated I've only rated 6 German Pilsners. Stoudts was best. Out of my 6 Czech Pilsners Foothills Torch was the best.

Pivo. Heater Allen Pils would be a close second.

Full disclosure, I have not see a fresh enough bottle of Prima to give it a fair shake.

Im embarrassed to have never had a Torch, it's like everywhere. I'll make a point to try this one, I just usually dismiss Foothills beers, I love the Odd batch of Jade , but I love their brew house.

It's not even distributed in MO. I used to make trips to the Carolinas for work and took advantage. Jade Jade on draft and it was outstanding. Hoppyum and Seeing Double were decent.

This thread and an upcoming trivia night inspired me to grab a sixer of Spaten Pils to share and rate. I need to drink more Pilsners.
