Oh, I agree totally; I look at things the same way. I wasn't being too literal there, just saying that they are all on the same level. Cheers!

If one of them looked like a milkshake I'd be forced to rank it higher.

But that's the only scenario I can think of.

If it looked like a milkshake I'd down grade it on appearance. :-)

Tom, if any of those Pilsners looked like a milkshake I would absolutely refuse to drink them.

I homebrew my own Pilsners (CAP, Bohemian Pilsner, 1896 Michelob,...) and those beer are unfiltered and while they are not 100% crystal clear they are pretty darn close. I bottled a Bohemian Pilsner earlier today and yes it is once again pretty damn clear; 5 weeks of lagering will achieve that.

    Cheers!

Conflicting questions: favorite or go-to -- I'll answer the go-to...

Santa Fe's Freestyle Pilsner...although North Coast's Scrimshaw and Ballast Point's Longfin certainly ain't far behind...

There are better, but these three are regularly available...

Pilsner Urquell is probably second, but my go-to is Nooner. Love that beer.

Gotta say that after studying in Prague, the only real choice for me would have to be Pilsner Urquell... but as far as craft pilsner goes, North Coast Scrimshaw is fantastic. I just wish I could find it more often!

I voted for SA noble pils, as it is one of the best pilsners I've ever had. However, I have to throw out an honorable mention to pilsner urquell and left hand polestar pils.

    Weihenstephan Pils is my favorite.

FW Pivo Pils is my favorite US-brewed example with Victory Prima Pils

I heard Trumer Pils is absolutely incredible too but I haven't seen any around here. I'll have to keep an eye out next time I'm in Cali (they opened a new brewery in the Bay Area)

Lots of really good Pils mentioned, but the one I drink the most is Real Ale's Hans Pils.

I know it's not a classic Pils but I've been enjoying a few of Dogfish Head's 'Piercing Pils. Fine stuff!
