I agree that Affligem is solid. Still and truer to style I would go with St. Bernardus Watou. Simply stellar..

Why do you think this? What about its profile makes it different than a Tripel?

    Hi Guys !
Dupont is making many differents kinds of beers:
    - Saison Dupont (and one with a dry hopping each year),
    - Moinette Blond that could certainly be considered as a tripel (there's a blond biologic version and a brown as well),
    - "Avec les Bon Voeux De La Brasserie Dupont" not really a tripel for me but more like a strong ale,
    - Miel Bio (honey biologic beer),
    - Monk's Stout,
    - Biolegére (a biologic light ale)
    - Blanche du Hainault (white belgian style)
Got all this beers in my bar in France, and all are greats in their styles !
I don't know which products from them are available in the US and if the uses the same labels than here...

Westmalle for me although Karmeliet is pretty close. I remember Jambe De Bois by De La Senne being fantastic, a kind of modern interpretation of the style. I do love most De La Senne beer I've tried though so there may be a slight bias!

Tripel Karm, can get it here for a good price with free delivery. At least there a few good beer related benefits about living in Shanghai.

    Karmeliet FTW!

Arguably the best Tripel ever... but let's not bicker and argue about 'o killed 'o.

La Fin Du Monde is definitely the best bang for your buck. It's usually around $7-8.99 for a bomber, $11-12.99 for a four pack around here.

It's also why it's one of my favorites styles also, there are so many good ones, and I love the diversity in flavors and aromas that Belgian tripels can bring.

Of the more well known Tripels La Fin Du Monde, Westmalle and Chimay are my favorites but the Brugge Brasserie in Indianapolis makes a beer called Tripel De Ripple that I may like slightly more.

I voted for Tripel Karmeliet, but like @pat61 said above, "...any one of the group would suit me fine."

I'm also a huge fan of Het Anker's Gouden Carolus, New Belgium's Tripel, St. Bernardus, Straffe Hendrik Triple 9, and Weyerbacher's Merry Monks. There's a lot that I need to try!

I have seen the Ommegang Tripel Perfection, wouldn't mind trying it, but couldn't justify its price point as it costs twice as much as La Fin Du Monde and is a few bucks more than the tripels coming straight out of Belgium.

Elevation Third Base. It's actually one of my favorite beers, period...and I don't even really like tripels all that much. It has minimal phenolics and esters, but just enough to give it a little bit of tropical fruit.

If we're going authentic, Westmalle and Karmeliet are both tasty.

St. Bernardus very slightly over Karmeliet.
