February homebrewing competition beer

    I agree with Supergenious, that is a lot of extra stuff going on. Are you trying to use up ingredients on this one as well? I wouldn't do a clean out beer for a competition beer. I would also up those hops on the red ale regardless. At least 1oz each at 10, and 1.5-2oz each at flameout. The hopping schedule for the BIPA would go well with the Red.

    Most of those recipes are built based on recipes I found doing online searches, and what I know my LHBS has (no Caramunich and rarely any British crystal, at least when I have asked). I figured I would shoot for just over 7% ABV hence the DME. I can not do more grain this time of year so have to partial mash.

    For the red I think more British hence the Maris and the Special B/Victory was something that seemed repetitive in recipes I saw online. Also, as a personal thing I wouldn't want the red to be super hoppy.

    For the BIPA, the Rye is from something similar to Wookiejack by Firestone Walker which was a recipe I have been meaning to try and find a "close" clone of.
