Braindead Brewing received a brewpub license (definitely looking forward to this one).

Armadillo Ale Works received a stand alone brewery license as well.

I wonder if we're getting BA Bigfoot. I really need that in my life.

I see they're just directly copying Buxton on their label art.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they are ripping off a small British brewery whose most reviewed beer weighs in with a whopping 55 reviews. They probably picked one up at Kroger and instantly knew they had to bite that killer brown label and plain tan text.

Yeah, a "small British brewery" that has almost 5000 check-ins on Untappd for one beer alone, and is distributed all over Europe and imported to the US through Shelton Brothers. Just because something isn't available at your local grocery store, it doesn't mean it isn't well known. Those labels look almost exactly the same, and Buxton uses the same design on all their beers. It's not exactly a stretch to say No Label ripped it off. But I guess since you've never heard of them, neither has anyone else...

How is it a rip off? Cuz it's brown? Try harder.

I wouldn't say a direct rip off, but dang closer than the SN/Lagunitas "IPA" thing...close enough that if they were on the shelf next to each other I would guess they were from the same brewery.

Both have an equally sized brewery logo on top, then the beer name in exactly the same font and size right under it, both in white on a colored background. The style is right under that, on the Buxton it's matched to their logo, on the No Label it matches the other logo on the bottom, they're also the same size and font. ABV is right below that on both labels, then the brewery name on the bottom in the same color as the beer name. Are you honestly unable to see all those obvious similarities?

It's a plain label with the same background color. I don't think there is much to "rip off" there.

According to the Wagner Bros infringement scale, this case receives a grade of "no effin way".

To think No Label was directly copying this Buxton label, you would have to completely ignore the Perpetual Peace and Nightmare on First Street labels having the exact same pattern as Boomstick

So, they've sold at least 40 kegs of a beer to Untappd users alone?! Seems pretty mega. I can't say I blame No Label for ripping off that flashy label. Although, the brewery's name is No Label, so that kind of makes the whole thing ridiculous. I think Hershey's might have a case against both of them, not to mention the Cleveland Browns.

If I haven't heard of something, can it really exist in my universe? Like the sound of a lonely tree falling in the woods...
