Always known for great Italian food and non existent craft offerings. Just went for dinner tonight and noticed Federal Hill Tap House and Harry's Burger bars new location. Very nice to see. Anyone visit either one yet?
If you are in the part of town and want a good meal and list to match, you go to Julian's. There's a few good places to get a solid beer in that neighborhood. The Avery, What? Cheer Tavern.
I went to Federal Tap House when it first opened around Columbus Day I believe? Overpriced for food especially as expected, but had a decent craft list including brews from Founders, Victory, DFH, etc. I got a pint (yes, they did not quite have the glassware situation figured out yet and offered me a pint or 20 oz!) of FBS for like $8-9. Wife and I shared a flatbread and it was very good. If I recall they had maybe 15-20 taps but 50 or so craft bottles to choose from including quite a few bombers. Harry's was not open at that time and I have not been on the Hill much since then, but I love the other location so hope this one is just as good.
Been to Julian's a couple times. Its a great spot. But I always feel it not too family friendly. 90% of the time we hit the hill me and my wife have our daughter with us. Tap House seemed a little more doable as well as Harry's with a 5yr old. Are the Avery and What a Cheer on Atwells?
What cheer is practically out of town headed towards cranston/pawtuxet village. The avery is close to atwells but not a family joint. It's a bar.
