Maybe someone out there has had this happen to them before so I’m posting here. I had a box about a month ago go out to a regular trade partner, and when it got to the final city, it said address corrected, and was delivered fine. When I got the invoice, I was hit with a $17 address correction fee, when the address was right on the label was correct. So now I’m shipping another box out there, made sure the label is 100% correct, and dropped it off. Now the tracking is showing a completely different “to” address that’s hours away. I thought this was a random address, but it turns out it’s his credit card billing address for the card tied to his account. Has anybody ever had anything like this happen? He checked and this address is nowhere on his FedEx account as far as delivery manager or shipping addresses.
I have never had this happen. Only when a trade partner intentionally has it diverted. What I have noticed lately is packages moving very slowly through the distro channel. Pretty sure, at least Fed Ex, is being impacted by the nationwide protests.
Yeah, this box was supposed to be delivered today and that’s not happening. We’ll see what the final bill ends up being and dispute from there.
Another data point - 400+ boxes sent out via FedEx over 10+ years & I've never had this happen. Very odd.
are you pre doing addresses and printing label at home? I always go into a store and they have address data on file for each person. Especially if they have a FedEx acct. like I had someone ship to me a few wks ago. Never have shipper my phone number but it appeared on label.
Yes, printing at home. The website let him request a change back to where it should have been going, so somewhere on the backend it must be tying this random address to him somehow, we just don’t know how or why.
I've had multiple labels "corrected" & charged $15 for them. I started using usps.com to find the zip+4 and I haven't had a correction since then although I haven't sent that many boxes since
