I stick with the USPS flat rate boxes. $13 or $18 depending on the size box. Weight does not matter or affect the price. Plus they deliver any where in the USA in 2 days. MD to California still only takes 2 days.

Against company policy, although across state lines & to an individual is certainly debatable.

The point being that you're adding something that's not even technically but specifically illegal by using USPS.

Beer trading is probably what is keeping USPS in business. Even though they don't allow it.

I think at this point, we can stop making this point. I have never read or heard of a single instance of anyone getting more than a letter in the mail asking the sender to stop shipping alcohol. Not a single report of any kind of fines or charges. With FedEx getting so much more expensive, I've been considering USPS for smaller shipments.

Is there a way to easily send Fedex Ground to a residential address? I stopped using Fedex because it kept forcing me to select the Home Deilvery option which cost sometimes 25% more

I have said it many times, but USPS could care less about shipping alcohol. Have had leaking boxes bagged and delivered....Of course, they broke the boxes, so there is that...but still, as far as illegal I have no worries..

I have a separate question but I don't think I need to start a new thread. Lets say you have a box, you measure and weigh it, print the postage and drop it off at your FedEx location.

Turns out your weight was off and your dimensions are off. What happens? Do they charge you more to account for the new weight and measurement? I was off by 2" in one direction and 0.51 lbs according to their scale.

The FedEx lady told me that each package is laser measured and weighed multiple times, I feel like she's BS'ing me, but what do you think? The difference in cost in this package is only about $0.65 so I don't think it's a huge deal.

They adjust the price as necessary. The price you see when you generate a label is just an estimate.

    I sent a 5lb package for $13
    8lb package for $15
    Another 6lb package for $14
Then a big 16lb package and cost $15

No idea how they do it but fedex is awesome. I get my labels and weight done in-store so it's all accurate too

If you're lucky during the holidays when they're swamped with packages, you can say a 20lb box weighs 5lb when creating the label, and because they're so busy, they never correct it. So I always list the weight on the label as 5lb just in case they forget to update it. If they do update it, no big deal. But if they don't, maybe I save a few bucks.
