Another week, another issue. I sent out a package that was well wrapped and got the dreaded news that it was damaged from the person I was trading with. I called up FedEx for more info and they immediately asked what the contents were. I said I wasn't sure as I sent out the package for my girlfriend. I asked if the package was going to be returned and the agent claimed that I had to file a claim before they could determine the fate of the package? Is that standard protocol? I'm not interested in filing a claim, I'd rather just get the contents back if that's what it comes to. So my questions are... a.) can i get the package back without filing a claim? b.) and if i can get it back, is it possible to receive a credit on the shipping? c.) or instead of a + b, can i waive all claims and let my trading partner pick it up? will fedex allow that? Thanks in advance for your time and help.
a) doubt it b) yes, I've done it twice thus far. They send me the $100 I claimed plus shipping c) depends Bottom line, on the two broken packages I have been involved with they didn't let me pick it up and wouldn't deliver it but did pay me both times. I lied both times about what was in there. Homemade vinegar is my favorite response
I'm a fan of "marinades", because there's nothing that says the recipient won't use the beer as a marinade
