I talked to FedEx Wednesday and said I was looking for Dark Horse bottles. Did not mention beer but said coffee. No update yet. Have my fingers crossed

Was it the Newark, CA fedex warehouse?

I just had the same happen to me. I sent a lot of beer to CA and it was at its final location before delivery. That night I get an update that says exception! I am like WTF. So I Contact fedex and they say it was marked damaged, I ask if the recipient can go pick up and they say yes, "just tell him to bring an ID". So he goes down there a few days later and they cant find the box. They tell him its been destroyed. I think some fedex employees had a nice party. Four 4 packs of 2 day old Elevated and a Project Dank. :slight_frown: I filed a claim but they have a 72 hour period you have to give them to find the box first then I can Open a Claim. I plan on filing a claim Monday as instructed. I have my fingers crossed it works out if not O well. At Least my trading partner is being cool about it and has a box headed his way soon.

not Newark, Left Bloomington was last update. I think was on the way to Sun Valley where it goes out for delivery after that. Im just outside of Los Angeles. I talked to someone from one of the warehouses mentioning that he did see similar box but was sent to a out of state sorting facility so waiting to hear back from them.

Helpful tip. Write the rec name, addy, phone# and tracking # on every box. labels do fall off.
it only takes a minute to do.
I trustee for a 5 people and ship over 50 boxes yearly, its like a part time job.
another tip: if using a 12 slot Styrofoam shipper, make sure you put a sticker over the writing on the bottom of the box (it says something like 12 750ml etc..) dead giveaway for the folks at the counter/del drivers..

Alternately, I always attach a second label.

In the box or outside the box? If inside the box, they open the box up, find the beer and flag it with a exception..
ive had my label fall off before and had it delivered without label on it. The driver just types in the tracking number and delivers it..

Folded in half and taped to the side with extra label hand written. Opening the box would be unnecessary. If I had not just dropped off boxes this morning, I would post a picture.

@craft_is_king any update on your situation at all? I am in a similar situation for the first time in well over 100 boxes shipped. Box hit final stop before it was to go out for delivery and has not been scanned since Wednesday night. The original delivery date was to be Thursday 3/19. I am trying to sit patiently and avoid the whats in the box question but thinking I need to act sooner than later.

@UcDru I would call sooner that later, I waited about a week before getting in contact with fedEx( was on hold and thought to try again). FedEx did call me back and confirmed there was a box with beer and the label did fall off. So now, Im waiting for an update because Fedex shipped to a sorting facility where the packages get sent with no owner,.

I gave bottle description of Dark horse ( was expecting to receive couple bottled of BA Plead the 5th :slight_frown:) when the facility called me back asking for more information finding the package, I said i was expecting some coffee from a college buddy, but there may have been a bottle of beer too. He said he recalled seeing a box with 6-7 beer bottles that left the facility that had label fell off. Guy was cool saying he didn't care whats in the box and you only need to require an adult signiture. Last call was friday with fedex and waiting on a update.

Good luck, Also, i would not mention beer when you call FedEx especially if its a recorded line. I gave a description of box, size, brand (Dark Horse). more information helps. Cheers

Curious if this issue has been resolved yet? I'm in a eerily similar situation. A box I mailed to Cali was last scanned leaving Bloomington early Friday morning. It's now the following Tuesday and the box hasn't been delivered and no expected delivery date is available. Has fedex resolved your issue or is it still in limbo? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I contacted FedEx and they had to match my described contents with a box at the terminal of it's last scan because the label had been ripped off. The trace department asked what was in the box and she searched the system which had pictures of opened packages to create a match. I told them my box contained a piece of glassware and a bunch of glass bottles wrapped in green and white bubble wrap. This was enough for them to find my package relabel it and deliver it to my recipient.

That's somewhat good to hear. Thanks for the added info. Seems that box still has a chance to make it where's it's going. Sounds like Bloomington fedex needs to get their shit together.

So fedex did find out it was beer on my end, the only way to get it back is to have it delivered at a licensed alcohol business. I am trying to have it shipped to a friends pizza shop, had to send alcohol license and fax it to fedex or said contents would be discarded. Faxed monday and have not been updated. going to call fedex tomorrow.

In my case, it was confirmed the label fell off and shipped to Salt lake city because it was an undeliverable package.

Yours had beer in it? Mine had sparkling cider and a non alcoholic beer I brewed for a buddies wife who is pregnant as a congratulatory care package.

So I should not mention anything about it being beer and just hope I get lucky.

I would be vague as possible...to give you an idea the description of my package from the FedEx Terminal was "a box a glass beverage bottles"...
