So I saw you can have fedex pickup a package at your home. Anyone ever use this way and if so have you had any troubles? I usually have to lug packages to work to get them to fedex during business hours. Normally not bad but as package get bigger taking them on an hour and ten min train ride then walking them for a mile downtown Chicago tends to suck.

I use this service pretty much all the time with FedEx. It's, what, $2-3 more but for the convenience I find it worthwhile.

Another stupid question, when you create your own label how do you go about attaching it to the box? Just clear packaging tape I am guessing

If you have an online FedEx account (which I assume you do), you can order the clear label pouches on there. For free (including shipping). Along with some FedEx Padded Paks which make for great bubble wrap.

And if I wanna get it out sooner rather than later?

Shaun - you can also drop off the prepaid package at an Office Max if there is one by your house.

I use it for just about every box I send. $3, set the box(es) outside in the morning, works like a charm. I've only ever had one "incident", where the guy accidentally picked up the wrong box (one that had just been delivered), but everything was sorted out the next day.

Clear packing tape on a label is fine, preferable even because it can't get torn off, but the pouches are free and easy.

Never used pouches, because I'm afraid of them getting torn off. Clear tape the whole label, with a second copy just inside the box. Good luck!

Like the whole label not just the outside boarder? Thats what I was thinking but wasn't sure how fedex felt about that like if it was "acceptable"

Fedex is never going to say anything about too much tape. They can still scan the barcode through the tape and it makes their lives easier because it greatly reduces the risk of the label being torn off.

Definitely the whole label - all it takes is a bit of rain to make it unreadable otherwise.
