It's been a while since I've been an active trader so I haven't really utilized Fedex much as of late. What I want to know is if a sharp increase in rates has taken place recently. I've put together a box for a trade and for ground shipping from LA to Garner, NC, I'm getting a $25 quote for a 15 lb box. Does that seem about right to you guys?

Not sure, But i did ship 2 boxes the other day, and im pretty sure it seemed more expensive. I have my bill autodraft monthly. But i always put 1 lb. so i dont know if they re-weighed, but it was like 43$ for 2 boxes. When normally its $30.

That sounds like a lot, not sure how/why you're getting that rate.

I just did a mock quote (right now) for shipping a box to my trustee in California from here in Pennsylvania. At 15 lbs, it's $17.95 via Ground.

Size of the box has a lot to do with the rates at FedEx too.

What were the dimensions of the box? The rate is calculated differently if you go over 5184 cubic inches (3 cubic ft)

I think I might have gotten an excessively high quote because I wasn't logged in. I redid the setup after having logged in and got a quote for 17.95 this time around. the size of the box was a 14" cube.

I just sent a 13lb box from CA to MI and it was 26 dollars for ground shipping.

Using a FedEx account? I find that almost impossible, unless your box was huge. As stated earlier, I can ship a 15 lb box from PA to CA for $17.95.

some cities have a huge jump in price when shipping to and from ca. NC is high cost because there isn't a lot of demand for shipping there. Flordia tends to be the cheapest in the south. PA is a super cheap state for west coast shipping because its a main hub for packages going to all the east coast. Almost everything stops in IL or PA when going to NY, Mass, DC, CT, NH, VT, ect. I've send a 50 pound box to NJ for the same price as a 27 pound box going to NC.

I sent a 15lbs box, 20x12x8, from Philly to San Fran area 2 days ago and it was $21 using my online account. It was residential. This is normal as far as I know.

I do use ground. All my packages are around this price. Does it have something to do with where i live?

I think it may be. My rates always are higher than what I see people post. I assume it's because I live in Iowa.
