FedEx shipment exception

This probably warrants its own thread of fun. Years ago (a lot of them) I received a box with Kate the Great, which was one of the toughest beers to land back in the times of yore, rolling around in a box with two 12 oz. extras (unwrapped) & a few token pieces of wadded up newspaper. When I picked up the box, I could hear the bottles roll & clink against one another.

I have no idea how those bottles survived a trip from the FedEx location, much less all the way from New England.

 

Yeah it can be bizarre. I had someone send me some beers and a pint glass loosely packed in a box with a couple wads of newspaper. Made it all the way from upstate NY to CO and no damage (except the cans were dented).

This box, I had lined with an extra layer of cardboard, wrapped every bottle and can with 2 layers of bubble wrap, double bagged the cans and bagged the bottles. And it got damaged somehow. The only think I can think of is that it was speared accidentally or maybe booted with a steel-toed boot.

The annoying thing is that ever since the delivery exception on Wednesday they have stopped updated the tracking information completely. I have no idea where it is now.
