So I shipped fedex for a trade, as usual. I Sent the package on 12/31/12, and it was supposed to arrive on Saturday for some reason instead of Friday.

Since the time I sent it, I was given no tracking updates whatsoever, until about an hour ago. When I was updated that my box has arrived in Conneticut, still a few states away from its destination. Is it too soon to try to get my money back? Cost me 18$ and a shit load of stress to mail the box. Not to mention its full of Cantillon and 3F.

Any info is appreciated. Kind of broke after the holiday season and even 18$ is a good dent.

    Cheers!

With the holiday in there, there is no surprise that there was a bit of a delay. It will probably land there on Tuesday.

Fedex has been slow as hell the past week in a half. Every package I sent missed the original delivery date.

I don't believe Ground or Home delivery has any protection against estimated delivery dates vs. actual.

If I were you I would chalk it up because as long as it gets there who gives a shit? I had a box out to a first time trader (Sean) stuffed to the brim with extras that was stolen by a POS employee. Always get a receipt when you drop off and be thankful it doesn't break and get's there... eventually. I know it's sad but we are breaking policy shipping beer.

I also had the issue of not getting any updates from 12/27-1/4 but everything got there on time.

Im sure if it his conn it will hit anywhere in NE tomorrow for your trading partner.

12/31 was a Monday. Was this box going to a home (i.e. residential?). If so, Saturday was a best case scenario. With the New Year's Day holiday, a one day delay would be totally common. Fedex home doesn't deliver on Monday, so Tuesday would be that "one day".

Point being, given the holiday, I'm not sure you even incurred a delay here. In the best of conditions a coast-to-coast box occasionally slips into the next week. Also, in the winter, shipping can often delay based on conditions along the route.

Net-net, you didn't see anything abnormal, and certainly wouldn't be in the right to even ask for a refund. (They likely wouldn't give it to you even if you did though.)

Cool, Thanks for the information. Guess im more pissed about not being updated on the status then when it actually shows up. Ive never had a box take this long so I was a bit worried.

    Thanks again

They don't update the status while it is in movement between facilities, and it was probably on a long haul truck for the last week going coast to coast. I see this quite frequently on my coast-to-coast shipments. The best way to look at it is "no news is good news".

No refund if you shipped it ground or home and from the price you paid $18 that tells me its not Express

I call them Sour Patch Pops.

Ironically, the delay probably saved his bacon on this one. It was loon bursting weather in NE for most of last week, but warmed up considerably this weekend.

Thats very true. I guess dont know where the shipping lines are in the middle of the country though. I shipped to someone in CA on the 28th and I wanted to make sure it was out of there before that weekend. I was pretty worried because it said it was in Conn the whole time and that fedex was holding things due to severe weather.

It wasnt till Friday at like 2 am that I knew it was okay.
