Aloha, I'm relocating out to the 808 for work, from Charleston, SC (home of COAST and Westbrook). Can y'all give me some insight on the craft beer scene on Oahu (if there is one)? Mahalo
you mighta already scoped this blog but it gives you a decent idea of the happenings in God's country; http://beerinhawaii.com/ also stone and maui brewing are collaborating to distribute beers in the future and we'll be getting stone, alesmith, avery, losy abbey/port brewing, oskar blues, and some others, so definitely look forward to that! (http://mauibrewingco.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/MBC-to-Join-Stone-Brewing-Co.-in-Dist..pdf) Im on Maui so i dunno about Oahu but my go to's here are usually deschutes or anderson valley, we have a decent selection of bombers but they're usually very overpriced. On Oahu you'll get a better selection but we almost solely get west coast brewed beers here in tha 808 and they aren't cheap (at least on Maui)
Good deal, thanks. I'll admit, I like Hinano, Kona, and Primo, but I'm sure I'll get tired of it after a while and crave some top shelf stuff. Do the beer stores or breweries do growler fills? Can't decide if it's worth the effort to bring growlers with me or not.
