I've only started drinking craft beers about four years ago and it started with Dale's Pale Ale. I couldn't believe how much better it was than Cooks, Amstel, and Yuengling. I met my husband and he was an avid craft beer drinker. Many of our dates were at breweries! I started beer trading this month and for the most part everyone is friendly and really generous. I recently had a guy who didn't drop off on the day that we agreed on and when I asked about it, he made a dumb comment about me being a female. His is getting there tomorrow and I don't even have a tracking number. I just want some good beer!

Send a few of your husband's biggest, burliest friends in a dark SUV to meet the guy and while they inspect the goods tell him "the smart women told us to check the bottling codes".

Here in Brooklyn there are plenty of women in the beer bars. And they are drinking everything that is on tap from Berliner Weiss to imperial stouts. Tell you the truth I never really think much about it because I'm just happy seeing people enjoy their beers. Now if the young couples will stop bringing their kids to the bars....

I never went through the whole drink 'til you drop phase of younger years. Didn't touch beer or almost any alcohol (liked a sip of good scottish whisky now and then, though), simply wasn't interested, until I was in my mid twenties. That was when I stumbled upon Belgian and German beer.

Heading towards 33 now and, well, beer is one of the loves of my life. Never been drunk though. Buzzed, sure, but drunk - no.

Should I try it out or should I just continue being a civilized drinker?

Oh, by all means, let's remain civilized. Drunk means missing out on the fun.

That has been my stance as well. Love the buzz, but can't see the appeal of a hangover nor that sudden need for vast amounts of greasy food.

I dont understand this. If it tastes good who cares if your male or female. Saying "girls dont like craft beer" is odd because they do. I actually know more females into craft than guys. And it should not be this stigma about it.

Gentleman, if you are in a bar and you see a female order craft, dont try and drop knowledge on them or hound them please. They probably know just as much or more.

Its great that people of all races and genders like craft. But. Why is it a suprise?

And if i was a woman, id not post here lol because theres some thirsty ass people on this site. "OMG U LIKE CRAFT YOUR HOT" im sure that gets old quick.

I'm not surprised, except at the number of people who don't like beer at all.

In that setting there's better stuff to talk about than beer.

I'm going to go with a no on being enthusiastic about craft beer... at least IPA's anyway. [IMG]

Wow, what a dickhole. Did you use the beer trading system here on Beer Advocate? If so, and he ends up not sending, you can post a Bad Trader thread in the Beer Trading Talk & Help subforum. Just give it some time first to see if he actually upholds his end of the deal. If you did not submit a formal trade request on this site and he doesn't send, you don't have much recourse unless you have his phone number and can bug the shit out of him to get you your beer.

My wife comes with me on 95% of beer adventures. She is willing to try most beers, but doesn't always like them as much as I do...likes saisons and farmhouse ales, appreciates fruity/tropical IPA's, not a huge fan of stouts. She's not a big drinker, but I really appreciate her willingness to explore and taste.
