This sunday im taking the ferry from Lewis, DE to Cape May,NJ. Looking for a few good places to get some beer I can't find in DE and a place to get a few sixers to bring home.

Are you taking your car on the ferry, or on foot?
The ferry docks a pretty good way from the town of Cape May, you'll probably
have to grab a taxi or shuttle into town. I can only think of one liquor store in
Cape May, and don't remember the selection being anything special.
If you've got your car, Cape May brewing is worth the trip.

    edit: or that^^

No real 'one stop' place in the Cape to find stuff, I usually hit three different shops looking for stuff I can't get in Maryland like Cape May Brewings Devils Reach, Founders, Bells, Avery White Rascal etc.

Start at Gorman's which is about a mile from the ferry, on your left at the first light you come to with the Acme.
Then go into Cape May and hit Colliers and Sunset liquors and you've hit the three best spots.

Don't look too hard for Bells. It's not distributed in NJ.

But these are good recs for me to check out when I'm down there in a couple weeks.

Regretfully there isn't much of craft beers scene in the Cape, you might make a stop at 'The Mad Batter' for a pop.

They have a small bar inside, often a jazz and/or blues band and a few quality offerings on tap, I've found Celebrator, Allagash White, and Dogfishhead on tap there. At the bar in the bottom of Congress hall (the boiler room?), they had bottles of Goose Island sofie last year. They usually have a band there too. They'll get you for $8 a bottle tho. I've heard Lucky Bones (across from the Lobster House) has started putting good stuff on draft, but haven't been in there to check it out yet.

If you are taking a car, Cape May Brewery is where to go....bring growlers.

Oddly enough, I've been to all 3 that you mentioned at one time or another. I've only been to the MB for breakfast, but have walked past the bar and have seen some decent things on. At Lucky Bones last year the one craft beer I had tasted old.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are taking the ferry in foot so we will have to grab a cab or shuttle. Hopefully ill be able to find something new.

I checked out the places in Cape May when I did this, and it wasnt that impressive.

If it is your first time give it a shot, but otherwise you wont find much.

Don't forget to grab a Cape May IPA on the ferry itself.

Barely anything makes it down this way. Most of the local places won't put the rare stuff on the shelf, and when they do its gone pretty quick.
