Yay yet another FFF thread... which is sorta about DLD but nah not really. I skimmed through the gazillion FFF threads but didn't see anything indicating what would happen the day before- sorry if I missed anything. We'll be driving through on I-80/I-94 the Friday before DLD on the way to Michigan. Won't be attending DLD because we have prior engagements in Michigan. So here's the question- does it make any sense to attempt to visit the FFF brewpub for lunch the day before DLD? E.g. will it be a typical Friday afternoon in Munster (e.g. busy-ish but doesn't take long to get seated and served), or will it already be a shitshow with everyone already in town kicking all the kegs- in which case, we'd just get lunch in Chicago instead and plow on through to Michigan. Advice and snark is appreciated.
I agree with this guy x 1000. We went to FFF on a Thursday night at 9PM and had an hour wait. I would fully expect to wait to get a table. My recommendation: stop at FFF, get some carry out beer, and travel up the road about 1 hour to Greenbush. They have the best mustard I have ever tasted in my entire life and I am a big mustard fan. Plus the beer is good and the food is outstanding.
There will be at least an extra thousand of people in town for DLD at that point so expect a pretty lengthy wait.
Yeah I figured people would be coming in early. Looks like it'll be a shitshow so I'll just proceed on I-94 to Michigan. I suppose one good thing about not going to DLD is that all the great breweries and brewpubs in Michigan are going to be pretty empty
