Grabbed a bottle of FFF Black Sun today in a local shop. Bottle date is nowhere to be found, unlike the newer bottles which have them right on the neck. I have never seen this brew before and the shop owner says he had it in his personal cellar but decided to throw it on the shelf. Anyone know when the last time FFF was brewing this? There are a few numbers on it, not sure if it refers to dates or a batch.

    The bottom reads 270 11 A1P 0335

It was only tagged for $11 so I bought it regardless since most of their bombers are $12 anywho. Assuming this was stored properly, is this a beer that would have aged well? Want to make sure I didn't buy a dud!

It's no longer brewed, not a bad stout, but it wasn't really all that special, the barrel aged with cherries wasn't too bad. I think it was last in the rotation in 2012.

Well I dont think it has been brewed for a while and it is an Irish dry stout. I personally would not age a Guinness style beer, but give it a try and report back.
