Looks like they are releasing a collaboration with Three Floyd's, not a ton of information. Looks like a BA imperial stout with cherries per label approvals. Anyone else planning on attending? From what the bar has stated on social media, will be on site consumption with all bottles opened at purchase, which should keep a lot of the hoarders away anyway. Not sure how much was made.

Fiesta DJ Chuck Wren spins our 21st Anniversary Party +++
    • $3 Point Pale Ale Pints, $3 Banker’s Club Bourbon
    Thursday, August 28 – 4pm until 2am.

Mark your calendar & Join us as we celebrate the Twenty First Anniversary of Delilah’s !!!

Delilah’s opened in 1993 in a space that has been a bar since 1894. We have been open every day since the start and Delilah’s has established itself as one of the most recognized taverns on the planet! Between the nightly DJ sets, world class selection of beer and whiskey, film screenings, art exhibits and great service, Delilah’s has come to be a regular gathering spot for like minded people for more than two decades. So for our 21st Anniversary
we will be throwing another seriously fantastic bash !!!

We will be releasing our Delilah’s Anniversary Ale – a collaboration
between Delilah’s and Three Floyds Brewing.

We’ll have some DJing from Jump Up! Records’ Ska & Reggae DJ Chuck Wren, perhaps another curious visit from Fisto The Clown and all sorts of additional ridiculousness to begin another fantastic year at Chicago’s most infamous cavern tavern.

Definitely interested in this, saw the label listed on beerpulse a few weeks ago and was wondering when it was going to be coming out...not overly stoked on the on-site consumption only as I'd like to age a bottle, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

Why would they make a label if they don't plan on releasing bottles? Sounds to me like the delilah's event will be on site consumption, but three floyds will release bottles in the future.

    This is the likely scenario.

FB says "For sale Thursday only at Delilah's"....whether that means (period) or you can get it there on Thursday and floyds later is still to be seen...last years did not get released at floyds from what I can find, but quite possible that was a test run...either way, I'll be at Delilah's on Thursday...

It sounds like it was aged at Delilah's in only two barrels making me think this will be a pretty low bottle count, I don't forsee the exact same version being offered at three floyds

Has any beer ever been bottled to be sold only for on site consumption? What would be the point of bottling if you don't sell any to go, when it would be cheaper and easier to just tap it

yeah, but then the untappd checkins would only have pics of the beer and not the beer+bottle.

They can sit on it longer and release it sporadically. I can think of a few that were bottled for onsite only, but a few bottles usually get out still.

I agree. I haven't checked today but neither their website nor their FB mentioned the bottles are for onsite consumption only, just that it's a release. Not doubting OP in any way but I would think this is something they would want to make explicitly known if true else the hordes of fedoras will be there screaming for bottles to take home so they can flip them.

Weren't some of the FFF things at Girl and the Goat on-site only?

And I'm guessing that bottles have a longer shelf life than a tapped keg... or something. Or it's easier to have a bunch of bottles rather than tie up a draft line for who knows how long with an expensive, slow moving BA beer. Or bottle conditioning. Or all of the above...

Here's an idea. Since Delilah's is dark as hell and normally pretty packed, buy a bottle, take it back to your table, and then recap it with a bottle capper. Success!

jk, don't do that. Even if you get away with it, it's a dick thing to do. Last thing we need is another over-valued bottle on the trading market.

3 floyds did a beer for girl and the goat a few years ago called Cabrito. Those were all onsite, except for a dozen or so that 3 floyds kept and later sold off during one of their BA inventory clearings. I think a few years of cable car were onsite only, maybe the first couple years. But even still the majority is sold to drink there. Was Blabaer initially onsite only? The initial run of the Lost abbey tracks before the box set were onsite only. Stone has a bunch of their Barrel aged beers for onsite consumption only at their brewpub.

I would assume that this was done as a favor or something special for Delilahs for their anniversary, and not for an actual money making venture. Maybe the delilahs owner wanted to do something cool and had the right connections.

I called the other day, and the guy there told me that there are no plans right now to sell these bottles to go. Maybe if they have a bunch left over that are not selling at the bar they might look into it.

    Dont forget to rewax it.

Hurry up? Unless you and Doc Emmett Brown got a time machine I can borrow, I'm not going to be able to make it to Mods Vs. Rockers III when that pic was taken 4 years ago.
