Any reason to believe these won't see Chicago distro in a few weeks? Are the bottles labeled for retail sale for those who have picked them up already? Debating the hour drive just for these...
I can confirm that Drunk Monk is labeled for retail sale. The label is an actual label not screen printed on the bottle and contains a UPC as well. I am not sure if Anicca was bottled or draft only.
3 floyds pretty much does whatever the fuck they want, so there's not necessarily any reason to expect that these may or may not hit distro. some of their last year "special" bombers as well as some recent ones (name of suffering, evil power, etc) did hit distro, but some (deesko comes to mind), even ones with legitimate retail-level labels, did not.
This. And if they do, it might take a while. I never even saw Gorch Fock in stores, and that's a regular seasonal.
Drinking an Anicca right now. It's really fucking good. I think I like it better than the Half Acre version.
Asked the dude at the to-go counter tonight how much Anicca there was and how long it may stick around. He said it depends on if it goes to distro so it would seem even they don't know for sure at this point. But it at least opens the door for it.
I got a Drunk Monk bomber from a store on the Northside of chicago the other day. The store even had a couple Deesko's still, but they were priced too high.
i have a few contacts over there. I'll ask if the two are def. going for distro. From what i was hearing last week it looks like both are.
The store on the North side of Chicago is called Zen (in Bucktown I'm guessing). They go to FFF and buy beer, then sell it marked up 50% so the fact that they had it does not mean it will hit distro. I've actually been in line at FFF when they've done this.
I was told that Anicca was not being distributed. I may be wrong but the guy at the counter said he was told no distribution.
Looks like Drunk Monk bombers are already sold out at the brewery. I assume they didn't make very much of this? I had some on tap there last week and thought it was fantastic.
