I loved both Bruery versions, they were not the same recipe?

It tasted to me like rum and coke. Almost exactly. I drank about 1/3 of a glass and then couldn't continue.

That something wrong was not the recipe. It was something wrong in the process. As a brewer this has happened to me and others at times when using barrel aging. As said above in the thread, other people tasted the problem with the 3F bottles. If other people are tasting something wrong such as funk and sour. There is nothing in a rum barrel aged porter that would produce those characteristics.

I have two bottles of this and I had to crack one to test. As I stated earlier I had both Bruery versions fresh and this wasn't anything like those. This tasted like sour green apples. It was gross. It smelled WAY better than it tasted. Definate infection.

Tasted like Captain Morgan to me. It was gross. I do appreciate the creativity and vision, but it just didn't turn out well at all. Nothing wrong with trying and failing. RdF on the other hand was maybe the best new beer I tried this year.

Just opened my bottle, and it's definitely soured. Unfortunate because I had the Bruery version on tap at Dark Lord Day, and it was excellent.

Finally got around to returning my still full bottle of Floyd D'Rue. I handed them the bottle, they handed me a $70 gift card. No questions asked. I then proceeded to rack up an $85 lunch tab. Good stuff!

The bottle was $30, they give you an extra $40 for the inconvenience

Those assholes and their terrible customer service. Should've at least given $100.

Had the same experience when I returned my two bottles in March. No questions asked, 30 bucks for each bottle back and 40 buck on top of that. Was really nice and the apologized too.
