Aquired a bottle dated Feb 2014. Any one drink this with time on it? Its a Belgian Style DIPA. So I would imagine hops faded. I wonder what Belgian ingredients will remain. Kinda excited just to try. Hoping its not a stale malt bomb.

Tilts a DIPA... won't age well whether it has Belgian yeast strain or a generic American yeast strain.

I did not intentionally age it. It was given to me as a freebie. I will crack it this weekend. At least it has alcohol in it

I'd have to ask who is giving you a year old IPA freebie? Just tell 'em to keep the change! Report back with your results though. Cheers!

I read the title along w/ the post. Too many threads about acquiring and aging IPAs. I understand that the OP may have been given this bottle or received it as an extra in a trade. If so, that person should have known better than to hold it hostage for this long. So relax and enjoy a FRESH IPA. Have a nice weekend.

I was aware it was old before it was sent to me. It was an extra in a trade. Just cracked it now. Wow! Barleywine for sure. 100ibu holds up well. Very good for a year old Belgian DIPA. Still bitter and candied Belgian thing is there big time!

I had the same experience with a year old Founders Double Trouble. It turned into a very good barleywine. Also have had Devil Dancer with 6-8mo on it and was great!

Just an FYI....beers turn don't into different beers with age. It's still a Belgian DIPA, just a year old.
