Has anyone been to Fiddlehead Brewing recently? I made a trip to their location in February(Google maps still suggested taking the ferry over frozen lake Champlain) and I was able to get 2 cases of 2nd fiddle. Over the last 2 months their website has not listed any recent bottling and I can't find any good info on their twitter feed. I even emailed them about future releases of 2nd fiddle but I received no response. Are they still brewing the beer on the regular.

Thanks in advance for any info

I have a few remaining from a recent canning run that they completed nearly a month ago. Picked it up through a contact at the mobile canning company so can't comment on their distribution. Good luck!

There was a Second Fiddle sale yesterday (6/27/15) at the brewery. There was no mention of it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

It is my understanding that they are keeping the releases quiet and off of social media for the sake of the locals, who have been shut out of previous releases due to the high demand for their beer.

When they advertise their releases, the cans seem to disappear in under two hours, and when they don't, they still sell out within the week, so it seems like a fair way to take care of their local supporters, in my opinion.

After every release, they send a small batch out to distribution the following week, so you may be able to check with Farrell Distributing to find out where you might be able to find a four-pack throughout their various accounts.

    I hope this helps.

They are not even putting what is on tap on their website, says you need to call. Seems there is a way to please both locals and non-locals much better than this approach IMHO. I love Second Fiddle, bummed that I have no idea if/when I can ever get it again. Too many other world class DIPAs right now in New England so I will get over it very quickly.

First trip up to Vermont and I was lucky to score some Saturday. Should have bought more though. I prefer their regular IPA though

I was there for the Saturday 6/27 release just by happenstance and easily got some Second Fiddle cans. The locals I was visiting with kept saying how lucky I was to be there that day. Brett On the Dance Floor was my favorite brew that day. I think they didn't have their website up-to-date for the weekend as they knew some kegs were going to kick that day and they didn't want to update the site mid-day during a can release. Wish I could have scored some Hodad, but they said though they like to brew it monthly it isn't on the current brewing schedule.

I missed Saturdays SF release and they've sold out at the brewery. Any ideas if/where there may be some available in or around Vermont?

    Thanks!

As far as I know SF cans are brewery only for the moment. But they should be doing another can release of something in 2 weeks. So that should be the weekend of the 12th.

Really? Last I knew they were putting some into distribution from each batch, I was able to get a 4 pack a couple times that way. I'm pretty sure they don't give any notice to the stores though, heard it just shows up as a surprise.

It hits distribution in limited quantities following a canning release.

I'm willing to bet it's because Farrell sits on it for weeks at a time... Like they are right now.

Will the line be crazy? I will be about 45 minutes away that day but don't really want to spend more than an hour in the line. Would like to just grab 1 case if possible.

They said they are only open until 2:00 and will be selling through the tasting room and both cash and credit cards.

Lol people, please don't spend 4th of July waiting in line for beer. Go hiking, or swimming, or to the lake.

Seems like a lot of inaccurate info on this thread. The spring releases had not been selling out in hours at all, my buddy was up in May and they still had some at the brewery on a Thursday, and the release that Saturday had been announced on Facebook and such. Also, they sometimes send some to distro before they actually sell it at the brewery, but you never know when or where as far as I have been able to tell. Now that summer is here there is bound to be a crowd every time and will sell out much more quickly. If they do not have a cash only line on the 4th then plan to spend some time waiting if you do go...

Early spring they were selling out quickly. Like before 2 the same day of the release pretty consistently. I was following it closely in anticipation for a VT trip in march. I went up on a saturday and they sold out of second fiddle around 1:30. They were also posting release dates on their website in advance early spring, so alot has changed since then.

I may have been thinking of the May 2nd sale, where they actually tweeted on the 5th that they still had some at the brewery and also said it was the biggest run they had. I was talking more April and May, they were still skiing in March so I would expect they were selling out quickly still at that point.
